The final merit list is prepared based on the marks scored in the ISTC Entrance Exam 2026. Allocation of courses is on the basis of this merit list. If seats in a preferred course are filled, the candidate is allocated from the courses for which seats are available.
Counselling
No separate counselling letter is sent to the candidate. The list of candidates called for counselling is published on istc.ac.in and csio.res.in. Candidates should check these sites regularly after the result is declared.
Candidates called for counselling must report at ISTC at the time and date given in the counselling list, with their original certificates and fees. If a candidate fails to report at the given time and date, the seat will be offered to the next eligible candidate.
If a candidate fails to meet the requisite eligibility conditions at the time of counselling, they will not be admitted to the training centre even if their name is on the merit list.
Documents required at counselling
- Original Class 10 marksheet and certificate
- Original category certificate (OBC, EWS, SC, ST) if applicable, in the prescribed format
- Original PWD certificate with minimum 40 percent disability and fitness certificate if applicable
- Printout of the submitted online application form with attested photograph and thumb impression
- Fee Deposit Slip
- e-Admit Card of the Entrance Exam
- Training fee and other charges as applicable
Stipend and freeships
A limited number of stipends and freeships are available on merit cum means basis, as per ISTC rules. Post matric scholarships are also available for SC, ST, OBC, and minority community students per Government of India rules. Students apply for these scholarships directly to the concerned department.
Uniform, stationery, and insurance
Trainees are required to wear the prescribed uniform during workshop and theory classes. Details are provided at the start of every session. Uniforms and stationery are arranged by trainees at their own expense. As the training is highly practical with use of machine tools, all trainees on the rolls of ISTC are required to have insurance coverage.
Rules
Rules and regulations are strictly enforced during training. The booklet titled Indo-Swiss Training Centre Rules 2007 is available in the ISTC library for reference. The Training Centre reserves the right to amend or modify these rules from time to time without assigning any reason. Ragging is strictly prohibited in CSIO-ISTC campus as well as in the hostels.
