What this platform stands for
ISTC taught us precision, discipline, and respect for craft. ISTCKonnect is built on those same values — a space where every ISTCian, from the 1963 batch to the newest graduate, is treated with the same dignity they earned on the workshop floor.
These guidelines aren't rules imposed from outside. They're the standard we hold ourselves to as a community.
How we expect members to show up
Respect every ISTCian
Batch years, trades, career paths — they're all different. Treat every member with the same respect you'd want in the workshop: professional, direct, decent.
Be genuine
Your profile is your word. Real name, real batch, real trade. The trust this community runs on depends on everyone being who they say they are.
Post with purpose
Opportunities, news, and updates should add value for the community. Share things you'd genuinely want to see yourself — not spam, not self-promotion without substance.
Protect other members
Don't share another ISTCian's contact details, location, or personal information without their explicit permission. What they share on the platform stays on the platform.
Remember who's watching
ISTCKonnect represents the entire alumni community. How you conduct yourself here reflects on ISTC. Act like you would at an alumni gathering — in person, in front of everyone.
Opportunities must be real
If you post a job or internship, it has to be genuine. Members trust these listings. Fake or misleading opportunities are a direct breach of that trust and will result in immediate removal.
Hard lines — zero tolerance
The following will result in immediate removal from the platform:
- Harassment, threats, or abuse of any member
- Impersonating another ISTCian or creating a fake profile
- Posting fraudulent job listings or scam content
- Discriminatory language — on any basis
- Scraping or automated collection of member data
- Any attempt to exploit or harm other members
Reporting a problem
If someone is violating these guidelines — or you see something that doesn't feel right — email us directly. We take every report seriously, investigate promptly, and act on what we find. The identity of the person reporting is always kept confidential.
Moderation
The admin team monitors the platform and reviews flagged content. We approach every situation with fairness — the goal is always to resolve, not to punish. But when the community is being harmed, we will act.
