Once admitted, the trainee enters a structured academic and practical training environment with emphasis on discipline, precision, and industry readiness.
Examinations
Examinations are conducted and results declared in accordance with the Indo-Swiss Training Centre Rules 2007.
Attendance
85 percent attendance in each semester is compulsory. Mass absenteeism by trainees is treated as an act of indiscipline and is viewed seriously. Parents and guardians are advised to take note.
Industrial training
Industrial training of 6 to 8 weeks is compulsory for all students after completion of the fourth semester or second year of training. This is in addition to educational tours and visits to industrial units that are organised through the year.
Library
The ISTC library has thousands of books, several journals and periodicals, ISI Standards, and e-documents. It uses an open access system with circulation, reference, text book, periodical, and general reading sections.
Medical facilities
The institute has its own dispensary providing general medical facilities for students and staff. Trainees can also access medical consultation from the CSIO dispensary.

ISTC Innovation Cell
The Innovation Cell at ISTC has been operating since October 2018 under the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and AICTE. It received a 4-Star rating out of 5-Star for its Institution Innovation Council. It works to encourage student innovation, new ideas, and entrepreneurial ventures.
Convocation
The annual convocation of ISTC is held at the end of the academic year. Successful trainees receive their diplomas at this ceremony. High ranking trainees are awarded medals and prizes.
Vacations
Summer and winter vacations are observed as per the ISTC academic calendar.
