About this role

CSIR National Metallurgical Laboratory is hiring project staff on a temporary project basis under advertisement T/PS/04/2026 dated 22 September 2026. Project Assistant-II is the diploma entry route and covers Mechanical, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. The post sits within 48 project staff positions across several grades. Work is laboratory and project based in metallurgy and materials. Note that Project Assistant-I in the same advertisement is an ITI route and is not open to diploma holders.

Eligibility: 3 year Diploma in Mechanical, Metallurgical or Materials Engineering, or B.Sc. in Chemistry.
Stipend: Rs. 20,000 per month plus HRA.
Selection is by WALK-IN INTERVIEW on 06 to 09 October 2026 at the Burmamines campus, reporting 09:00 to 11:00 AM with original documents. There is no online application, so candidates must travel.
