The results of the ISTC entrance examination held on 5th July 2026 have been declared. The Indo-Swiss Training Centre, CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh, has published the roll-number-wise result and merit ranking on 10th July 2026.

A special mention
Kusum securing Rank 3 overall — the top position among all female candidates this year — is a result worth celebrating. As more young women choose precision engineering and technical careers, results like this matter. ISTC has always been open to every student with the aptitude and the drive, and the merit list reflects that.
What happens next — counselling and admission
Qualifying the entrance exam and appearing on the merit list is the first step. The next stage is counselling and document verification at ISTC, Chandigarh.
As stated in the official result notice, admission will be granted subject to fulfilment of the eligibility conditions and verification of original documents. Shortlisted candidates should keep the following ready:
- Class 10 (Matriculation) marksheet and certificate — original plus attested copies
- ISTC entrance exam admit card 2026
- A recent Aadhaar card (not older than 3 years)
- Category certificate — SC / ST / OBC / EWS, if applicable, issued by the competent authority
- Domicile / residence certificate
- Passport-size photographs
Candidates should watch the official ISTC website closely for the counselling schedule, seat allotment, and reporting dates. Counselling is time-bound — missing your allotted date can affect your admission.

The complete roll-number-wise result and merit ranking is published on the official ISTC portal. Candidates should verify their result and rank directly from the official source. The result notice is dated 10th July 2026 and signed by the Registrar and the Principal, ISTC.
Welcome to the ISTC journey
For those who have qualified — the exam was the gate. What lies ahead is a three-to-four-year programme at an institute founded in 1963 on Swiss engineering principles, where you will train in workshops with real machinery, learn from an institution with one of the strongest placement records in North India, and graduate into a career in precision engineering, mechatronics, electronics, or tool and die making.
You will also become part of the ISTCKonnect community — a network of alumni spanning 63 batches and 27 countries, many of whom are now engineers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders. From today, you are one of them.
For candidates who did not make it this year — the effort you put in was not wasted. The discipline of preparing for a competitive exam builds capability that carries forward. There are many strong technical pathways available, and this is one attempt in a longer journey.
