ISTC Admission 2027: Complete Guide

When will the ISTC 2027 admission form be released?
The 2027 notification has not been released yet. In 2026 the online form was open from 01 May to 03 June, so a similar May to June window is expected.
What is the eligibility for ISTC admission 2027?
Class 10 passed (or result awaited) with Mathematics, Science and English, with at least 50% marks (40% for SC/ST), within the date-of-birth limit set in the brochure.
How is admission to ISTC done?
Through the ISTC entrance exam: 100 MCQs in 100 minutes at Class 10 level with 0.25 negative marking. Courses are allotted at counselling by merit rank.
What courses are offered at ISTC Chandigarh?
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Tool & Die) and Diploma in Electronics Engineering (3 years, 60 seats each), and Advanced Diplomas in Die & Mould Making and in Mechatronics & Industrial Automation (4 years, 30 seats each).
What is the fee at ISTC?
The training fee is Rs 17,500 per semester. The first semester totals Rs 26,000 for day scholars or Rs 34,150 for hostellers, as per the 2026 brochure.
Is ISTC a government institute?
Yes. ISTC functions as part of CSIR-CSIO, a national laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India. It was set up in 1963 with Swiss collaboration.
