How to Apply for ISTC Admission 2027
ISTC accepts applications online only, through the CSIR-CSIO portal linked from istc.ac.in. You fill the form, upload a photo, signature, Class 10 marksheet and category certificate, and pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 1,200 (Rs 600 for SC/ST). In 2026, the window was 01 May to 03 June.

Step by step
- Open istc.ac.in, Admission and click Apply Online. Do not use links from other websites or coaching centres.
- Read the Information Brochure for the year in full before starting.
- Register and fill in personal, category and Class 10 details exactly as in your certificates.
- Upload scans in JPG/JPEG format: photograph 80 to 100 KB, signature 10 to 20 KB, Class 10 marksheet 50 to 250 KB, category certificate 50 to 250 KB.
- Pay the fee through SBI Collect. Keep the payment reference.
- Submit and save or print the confirmation.
Mistakes to avoid
- Waiting for the last day. The portal slows down near the deadline.
- Wrong category. The brochure states that information in the form is taken as final and no changes are allowed after the exam.
- Old OBC or EWS certificates. In 2026, these had to be issued on or after 01 April 2026.
- Incomplete forms, which are liable to be rejected.
