ISTC Courses and Seats 2027
ISTC offers four AICTE-approved programmes with 180 seats in total: two 3-year Diplomas (Mechanical Tool & Die, and Electronics, 60 seats each) and two 4-year Advanced Diplomas (Die & Mould Making, and Mechatronics & Industrial Automation, 30 seats each).

Diploma or Advanced Diploma?
The two Advanced Diplomas are built on top of the Diplomas. Die & Mould Making shares the first three years with Mechanical (Tool & Die) and adds a fourth year of specialisation. Mechatronics & Industrial Automation shares the first three years with Electronics and adds a fourth year of specialisation. The fourth year is advanced training on specialised machines and equipment.
Choose an Advanced Diploma if you want deeper specialist skills and are comfortable with one more year before earning. Choose a Diploma if you want to enter industry or pursue lateral entry to B.Tech a year earlier.
Mechanical side or electronics side?
- Mechanical (Tool & Die, Die & Mould): machining, tool design, press tools, moulds, precision measurement, CNC. Suits students who enjoy building physical things.
- Electronics (Electronics, Mechatronics): circuits, embedded systems, instrumentation, PLCs, automation. Suits students who enjoy systems and control.
Course allotment happens at counselling in order of entrance exam rank, so keep a second preference ready.
