ISTC Entrance Exam Syllabus 2027

The topic list below is our study checklist based on the standard Class 10 curriculum. The official brochure names only the five subject areas.

Mathematics

Real numbers, polynomials, linear equations in two variables, quadratic equations, arithmetic progressions, triangles and similarity, coordinate geometry, trigonometry and its applications, circles, areas and volumes (surface area, volume), statistics and probability, percentages, ratio and proportion.

Science

Physics: motion, force, work and energy, light (reflection, refraction, lenses), the human eye, electricity (Ohm's law, circuits, power), magnetic effects of current. Chemistry: chemical reactions, acids, bases and salts, metals and non-metals, carbon compounds, periodic classification. Biology: life processes, control and coordination, heredity, environment.

Aptitude and reasoning

Number and letter series, analogies, coding and decoding, direction sense, blood relations, clocks and calendars, time and work, speed and distance, simple interest, mirror images, figure-based reasoning.

English

Grammar (tenses, articles, prepositions, voice, narration), vocabulary (synonyms, antonyms, one-word substitution), sentence correction, fill in the blanks, reading comprehension.

General Knowledge

Indian polity and geography basics, science and technology in daily life, current affairs of the last 6 to 9 months, awards, sports, important days, and basic facts about Indian industry and institutions.

A 12-week plan

1. Weeks 1 to 4: finish Class 10 Maths and Science concepts; 20 aptitude questions daily.
2. Weeks 5 to 8: timed section tests; English grammar daily; start a current affairs notebook.
3. Weeks 9 to 12: full 100-question, 100-minute mock tests twice a week with negative marking; review every mistake.
