Diploma in Electronics Engineering

What you learn
After the common first year, students specialise in electronics, covering areas such as analogue and digital circuits, electronic instruments and measurement, microcontrollers and embedded systems, PCB design and fabrication, and industrial electronics. Industrial training of six to eight weeks is compulsory after the fourth semester. ISTC sits within CSIR-CSIO, a national laboratory for scientific instruments, which shapes its instrumentation focus.
Where it leads
Typical roles include electronics technician, test and QA engineer, field service engineer, and instrumentation technician. Employers named in the 2026 brochure include Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Fanuc India, Havells and Microtek.

Yes. The 2026 Information Brochure states that all ISTC courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
What is the eligibility?
Class 10 passed with Mathematics, Science and English, with at least 50% marks (40% for SC/ST). Candidates awaiting their Class 10 result can apply.
How is the course allotted?
By rank in the ISTC entrance exam merit list at counselling. When a course fills up, the next candidates can choose only from courses that still have seats.
