The Common First Year at ISTC

Every ISTC student does a common first year of training, whatever their course. Specialisation in mechanical or electronics starts in year two. Advanced Diploma students add a fourth year on specialised machines.

Year by year

Year 1: common training for all students in foundational workshop and engineering skills.
Years 2 and 3: specialisation in Mechanical (Tool & Die) or Electronics. Industrial training of 6 to 8 weeks is compulsory after semester 4.
Year 4 (Advanced Diplomas only): advanced training on specialised machines and equipment for Die & Mould Making, or Mechatronics & Industrial Automation.

Attendance

85% attendance in each semester is compulsory. Working hours per the institute FAQ are typically 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
